About me
Throughout my life, I have been passionate about English literature and language, and I am lucky enough to have spent almost half my life doing what I love best teaching English. Over the last 15 years, I have taught English in different contexts: I have taught English both as a first language and as a second language, to people of varying ages, from ten-year old school children to people over sixty, in the classroom and online. It has truly been an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

I think the online medium is a good way to teach written English because the learner is forced to write in English. This means that the initial inhibitions which most people have when it comes to writing in a foreign language are shed automatically. Moreover, the students learn to express themselves more clearly because they cannot use facial expressions or gestures to support their speech, which they can in a classroom situation. Additionally, the instructor's comments also provide them with an opportunity to read well-written and grammatically correct English.
